With the of the next year of office for our first president and the celebration of Martin Luther King birthday on Monday January seventeenth, E Tech want to honor. A defining moment was marked by the 2009 inauguration of Barack Obama as President of its US. This event was another step towards Martin Luther King's dream of a society that is more equitable. Throughout Black History Month, we recall Black leaders of all types helped to bring our Nation. A History of History - In Feb, the nation joins Black Americans in observing their culture, heritage, and donations during Black History Month to the lifestyle.
Black History Month started as Negro History Week in 1926 that was established by Carter G. Woodson and has been enlarged to a month long party in 1976. Woodson is said to have chosen in Feb to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln, an abolitionist and editor, and Frederick Douglass. The scope could be witnessed at the most basic levels: Garrett Morgan invented the Traffic SignalLewis Latimer invented Light BulbsRichard Spikes were utilized in by the Carbon Filament Newman invented the Hair Brush.
Today, Black Americans are still achieving firsts in politics, education and business: Condoleezza Rice has been the very first Black Woman to function as US State Secretary, President Barack Obama was the very first Black President of the Harvard University Law Review and was the very first Black to run for the Democratic Party's Presidential Candidacy, and Robert Johnson, owner of Black Entertainment Television, became the very first Black billionaire in the year 2001. The Black Consumer Market - There are 40 million Black Americans whom comprise 12.3 percent of the U.S. Population down from 14.8 percent of people in 2000.
